Rapper-producer Barz Nice made it big with hip-hop group DMV. He has also enjoyed success as a solo act and has opened up for music sensations like Big Daddy, EPMD, Sadat X.
Who is Barz Nice?
As Barz Nice would
doubtlessly tell you himself, he is a 21st-century rising star— a
second-generation hip hop artist turned independent musician who has reinvented
hip hop several times. He used hip-hop as a passion to build his career as an
Emcee. Barz Nice created his clothing line with different branches of Legendary
Poets, The Boom Bap Chemist and Heavy Artillery Productions and currently
working on the release of his new sensational EP “Sample Situations” from which
the single “No Mistakes Allowed” is about to be released.
Early Life
Barz Nice hails from
a very musical family as both his grandparents and great grandparents were
musicians and that is why music comes to him naturally. Born Sean Sharpe on
August 20, 1970, in Seaford, Delaware, Barz Nice had a comfortable upbringing:
he grew up listening to his musician grandfather working with Saxophone, Piano,
and guitar. Maintaining his artistic inspiration from his grandfather, the
hip-hop artists sound is unlike any other that has made its way on to the
airwaves.
Musical Beginnings
The boom-bap music
producer started his career as a second-generation hip-hop artist. Barz Nice
shadowed dance battles “ Beat Boxers Break Dancing” back in school in a dance
group called the “The Floor Rockers” and later started Emceeing in high
school with “Free Lance Group.
Hip-hop Career
Barz Nice remained
low profile until he met the famous Lonnie Jolley, the first artist who signed
a record label from his region. His first hip hop scene was in between the
journey to and fro from the Eastern Shore which led to the introduction to his
boom-bap parody as Emcee. His life bounced back after struggling through an
exponential change in the music industry and a 20-year break from the
field.
Artistic Values
Native Delaware artist, currently residing in Richmond, Virginia believes that music speaks for itself and in music’s ability
to express the passion within oneself. Barz Nice decided that he would rather
maintain his artistic independence while exploring the limits of a label-less
career than joining a label. Also, Barz Nice can be defined as a
wide-eyed talent figuring out the world one deeply felt hip-hop song at a time
as a springboard for his versatility as an MC, thinker, improviser, and
surrealist.
