DJ Zaiko is a DJ and music producer from the Netherlands who pioneered exclusive remixes and tracks and has gone from bedroom producer to one of the most hyped urban artists. 

Who is DJ Zaiko?

Originally, known as Zua Koning, DJ Zaiko is a DJ and record producer who has been producing remixes of his own since 2017. As an Amsterdam native, he has established himself as a household name and also founded the record label ‘King Zaiko Muzik’. With a hotly anticipated first single release in near future, plus a  set of new remixes due to be unveiled, this is only the beginning for this 34-year-old Dutch prodigy.

Early Life

Born and bred in Amsterdam, the Netherlands on September 17th, 1985, but routing his racket across the globe, DJ Zaiko is from a league of his own. He was exposed to music at a very young age and got attracted to urban music while visiting his DJ uncle and decided to become a disk jockey when he grew up. Zaiko showed a talent for an array of heavy-hitting, bass nourished beats within his inventory. He started hanging out with the PartySquad, Netherland's biggest DJ act in the urban scene, where he eventually got his chance to work the turntables. 

A Leading DJ Pioneer

After perfecting the basics and club scene, 16-year-old Zua Koning started working gigs with PartySquad. After jumping into the DJ circuit, DJ Zaiko took urban music by storm. Over the years, he built a reputation for himself in prising art of mixing records and creating damn-fine beats for the dance floor.  Curating a perfect, genre-blending channel of work, the bass-heavy, alternative RnB hues, the music has done the talking for the DJ, which has helped him build relationships with clubs, festivals and private parties all over the Netherlands.

Who is Rick Eckboch?

Originally from Spain, the Rick is a record producer who has released several hit tracks on SoundCloud and Spotify. As an artist, he has worked with established labels like Spinup, Soul Treasure Records and DaCosta Records. From what started as a passion for music production in childhood, Rick has become a graceful expert of vibrant tech-house music and DJing today.  

Early Life

Album Review: Solo Piano Album 'Here With Me'- at his best, Sylvius is outstanding

We find ourselves in September, which seems like a perfect time to listen to pianist Sylvius’s new album 'Here With Me'. His unique approach suggests dedication indeed to this singular, sensuous body of music- romantic and beautifully cinematic. With refined, crystalline playing and charismatic persona, the artist takes over your soul with his music and leaves you yearning for true love. 

The album’s first sonata  'Our Adventure Begins', its a romantic’s work, propelled by soothing notes of love and clearly indebted to true passion towards someone. The musical piece makes you feel the moment of meeting your lover, finally to be one forever, like a fresh climax scene of happily ever after. 

The pianist’s imagination draws the best of his playing, the sonata 'Moments of Beauty' takes you back to the first time you fell in. The delicate nausea of being immersed in the thoughts of a beautiful face and floating around in the air in slow motion. The feeling of ecstasy at the hands of this solo piano piece that makes you close your eyes and forget yourself in emotions. Personally, I enjoyed each second reviving the memories of innocent love. 

The title sonata 'Here With Me' which plays soulfully out of the speakers, the piano getting evermore intimate as Sylvius sends joyous little flourishes up the keyboard. If you are sitting alone, this piece will make you miss your sweetheart more as you realise the distance from each other. The last-minute of the sonata is the best, slightly woodier and lighter-sounding than a modern grand, it is ideally balanced with affection.

'Onwards and Upwards' is a few minutes longer than the others, but it offers the spirit and expressive freedom of a new journey. Filled with uplifting soulful music on the disc; it does until a huge and incongruous mood-swing into cheeriness in the middle. This sure is the hippity-hop tone you need when you set out on an adventure.
